The Services Export Promotion Council of India and CleanCarbon.ai have launched ‘Carbon Cell,’ a platform to assist MSMEs in the iron and steel sectors with the EU’s CBAM compliance. This initiative is essential to ensure uninterrupted trade with the EU and aligns with global sustainability standards.
The Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) of India, in partnership with CleanCarbon.ai, has unveiled a new platform, ‘Carbon Cell,’ aimed at aiding Indian exporters, particularly MSMEs in the iron and steel industries, to meet compliance standards set by the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
The launch event in New Delhi saw key officials, including Mr. Abhay Sinha, Director General of SEPC, and Mr. Nilesh Bhattad, CEO of CleanCarbon.ai, emphasizing the importance of CBAM compliance for maintaining trade with the EU. SEPC’s Environmental Panel Head, Mr. Manish Dabkara, pointed out the need to align exports with low-carbon practices.
